Cemetery Trails
Toronto’s Cemetery Trail System opened to the public on July 1, 2023. Park a car anywhere on the upper or lower cemetery and enjoy a 1.75 mile stroll on a loop designed to entertain, educate, and allow you to recenter and connect with nature. Scattered along the trail are informational signs on the topics of Reptiles and Amphibians, Insects and Arachnids, Meadows, Mammals, Fungi, Woodlands, and Birds.
Visitors can also take a stroll to the highest point in Toronto, the 1200 foot peak known as Myers’ Knob where you will be treated to a breathtaking view of the city and the Ohio River.
Soon, you will also be able to exit the cemetery via a path near the cemetery’s old gate entrance, cross the street, and traverse the gorge via a soon-to-be-constructed land bridge where you will access old logging roads which have been converted into a hiking trail.
The cemetery project is finished, but this is only the beginning for Hike Toronto. Stay tuned for more.
